RRC’S RADIO RATINGS 101 WORKSHOP

Whether you’re new to audience data or a power-user, this intensive workshop can help you understand how to leverage your station’s data for deeper audience connections and revenue growth. In this four-hour workshop, we’ll cover Nielsen’s measurement methodologies, the RRC’s relationship with Nielsen and our role as your partner, key data points and what they really mean, and the myriad ways you can use your data to better understand your listeners and increase revenue. RRC’s team will guide you through the information and will be available to meet with you throughout the conference to discuss your station’s needs.

The workshop takes place Monday, August 25 from Noon to 4:00 pm. Cost is $100 per person for PMCC members and $200 for non-members.

PD WORKSHOP

The PD Workshop offers training in many of the most important aspects of successfully programming a public radio station. This essential resource has trained hundreds of people over the years, and we are thrilled to bring it back in 2025. Participants in the PD Workshop build a peer support network as they go through this course and people who attended in the past have stayed in touch with their classmates throughout their careers. This class is best for early career radio programmers, programmers who have moved into larger markets or into oversight positions and content leaders who are charged with managing a broadcast channel. The curriculum is geared toward news/talk and classical formats and attendees will learn about key aspects of successful broadcast programming, including effective on-air promotion, building a strong program schedule, airchecking and on-air fundraising, with the goal of improved performance.

Attendees and trainers will meet for an informal gathering on the evening of Saturday, August 24. The workshop runs on Sunday, August 24 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Monday, August 25 from 8:30 am to Noon. Cost is $400 per person for PMCC members and $550 for non-members and includes two breakfasts and one lunch.

2024 Public Radio TechSurvey

October 8, 2024

In total, more than 22,000 responses were gathered from 62 participating public radio stations across the country for the 2024 Public Radio TechSurvey, produced in partnership with Jacobs Media. We are excited to share the key findings of PRTS 2024. This survey helps us answer some key questions about how our most loyal fans perceive us. For instance, recent PRTS studies suggest a heightened interest in local and regional information. We’ll see if that trend continue in PRTS 2024, and if so, talk about the implication for programmers and marketers.

Election Audience Trends

September 25, 2024

Typically, public radio stations see audience growth during a presidential election year as people search out information they can trust. Broadcast audiences earlier in the year were not showing a dramatic increase, but that has changed as July’s news cycle and the Republican and Democratic conventions have captured people’s attention. In this special webinar produced in partnership with ERPM, PMCC and the RRC, we reviewed the most recent audience trends and share ideas on how to cultivate and retain audiences through the election and beyond.
