For PMCC members

The PMCC Knowledge Network is a collective of experts and thought leaders that PMCC members can call upon at no cost as a benefit of your membership. The Knowledge Network gives you much-needed access to some of the most experienced, respected and knowledgeable people working in media today. Whether you need strategic help for long-term planning or talent coaching for your hosts, you’ll find the support you need in the Knowledge Network.

Each PMCC member organization will be able to schedule THREE one-hour sessions with any of the available Advisors in the Knowledge Network during the membership year. Our Advisors represent a great wealth of expertise and you’ll choose them based on the specific support you’re looking for.

Israel (Izzi) Smith works with public radio news stations to grow audiences and impact.  Based in Minneapolis, Listen Again Tomorrow works with stations across the country, Izzi provides insights and analysis fueled by close listening, audience data, and a bias toward action.  His work centers the audience and he helps leaders create and socialize narratives around programming focus, scheduling changes, and promotion strategy.  He began his career at WBUR/Boston, was NPR’s Director of Programming, and currently works with WBUR, KCRW, WBEZ and other stations.

Chris Schiavone is the President of City Square Associates, which provides research and strategic advice to clients in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Chris has designed and fielded research for PBS, CPB, WGBH-Boston, WNET-New York, WETA-Washington and his team has fielded brand research for public media organizations in Las Vegas, Chicago, and Central Virginia.

Craig Oliver is a consultant with more than 30-years of experience providing audience data analysis for the public radio sector. He is the former research consultant for PRX and contributes his expertise and time to Greater Public’s Benchmarks project. He was president of RRC and the co-founder and first president of the Public Radio Program Directors Association, now PMCC. Craig began his career at WAMU, Washington, and was a newscaster for NPR. He has a journalism degree from American University.

Kerry Edelstein is the President and Founder of Research Narrative, a research and strategy agency offering custom audience research, strategic planning, impact evaluation, and data-driven strategic advisory and coaching. Kerry has advised media brands such as Netflix and Disney as well as public media organizations such as NPR, WNYC, KQED and WDAV. She was awarded the Insights Association’s “2022 Laureate” designation for her work in championing multicultural representation in research.

Edison Research is a respected election, audio and market research company best known for their Infinite Dial, Share of Ear and Podcast Metrics studies. In addition to audience research, Edison is the sole provider of election data, race projections, and analysis to ABC News, CBS News, CNN, and NBC News for U.S. elections. As a leader in the field, Edison’s Larry Rosin is President of Edison Research, which he co-founded in 1994. Since then he has been a primary force in building the company into one of the world’s most respected survey research companies, with a particular specialization in media and election polling.

Fred Jacobs is the President of Jacobs Media, which provides research, consulting and digital strategic planning to media brands across the county, including commercial and public radio stations. Among his many honors is induction into the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame and the NAB Radio Hall of Fame in 2018 as the first researcher/consultant to receive that honor. In 2022, Fred and his brother Paul Jacobs were the co-recipients of the NAB’s prestigious National Radio Award.

Warren Kurtzman is the President of Coleman Insights and has been a member of the team since 1995.
