Sheila Rue has worked in the trenches of public radio, which includes 3 decades as a program director serving in small, medium and large markets. Her background in multi-station, mixed, classical and all-news formats includes leadership through major format changes, in staff development, change management, programming and on-air maintenance, station collaboration, all aspects of on-air fundraising, and more.
She served 2 terms on the PRPD [PMCC] board; was a co-trainer in the PRPD PD Workshop for 22 years; a co-trainer in the Pledge Drive Workshop for 20 years; and consulted with stations and networks nationwide for 10 years in all areas of audience service and content strategy.
Her start in a small, rural market [WKMS] helped prepare her for wonderful opportunities at stations like KUSC in Los Angeles, WNKU and WMRA, WUNC in Chapel Hill, and WSMR/WUSF in Tampa.
