Bio

Craig Oliver is a consultant with more than 30-years of experience providing audience data analysis for the public radio sector. He is the former research consultant for PRX/Public Radio International and contributes to Greater Public’s Benchmarks project. He was president of RRC and the co-founder and first president of the Public Radio Program Directors Association, now PMCC. Craig began his career at WAMU in Washington D.C in 1972 as a board operator and rose to become news director and eventually program director before making the transition to audience research. Craig was also a newscaster for NPR and has a journalism degree from American University. Craig helps producers, stations and networks understand audience research, expecially Neilson estimates.

Additional areas of expertise include on-air promotion best practices and on-air sound, inventory management, and micro-formatics.
